I wanted to read something light and uplifting for the holidays.  What could be better than a compilation of happy little rescue stories?  So, I decided to check out The Cat Rescue Diaries 56 True Life Stories of Cats Who Found Their Forever Homes and the People Who Saved Them

Edited by Kurt Schmitt, this book is a compilation of true tales, written by the people who lived them.  Each story (except for a couple) features a picture of the cat or kitten in question and a quick page or two about how this cat ended up in this humanís life.  Some are really short, others go in to more detail, but every story is uplifting.

Having mothered a few cats and having rescued one, I can honestly say that I can relate to the tales in The Cat Rescue Diaries.  I often found myself smiling as I read them and thought back to special moments in my life filled with cat companions.  I can even relate to the sadder moments as the kitties made their way over the Rainbow Bridge, having experienced such things myself.

The Cat Rescue Diaries is a quick read, filled with adorable pictures and enjoyable short stories about humans and their relationships with their cats.  Sure, these arenít masterpiece tales Ė they are written by average cat lovers who arenít looking to win any Pulitzer Prizes, just tell the tale of their kitty companion.  That being said, this doesnít mean this book is any less enjoyable and at the price (free for a limited time), itís an absolute steal!  I definitely recommend this as light reading for any cat fan out there.
