From 1984 to 1991, kids sat with their eyes glued to the television set watching the Muppet Babies.  This Muppet Babies starred baby versions of our favorite Jim Hensonís Muppets like Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal and more as they used their imaginations to go on fabulous adventures.  On March 23, 2018, Disney Junior aired two back-to-back episodes of a re-imagined Muppet Babies on Disney Channel and on the DisneyNOW app.  The Disney Junior Music Muppet Babies Soundtrack was released on February 23, 2018.  I recently had an opportunity to check it out.

With a theme song re-imagined by Kay Hanley, Michelle Lewis and Dan Petty and fifteen other tracks by Andy Bean and Keith Horn, the sixteen track album is bound to be a hit with the age 2-7 children Disney Junior targets.  But what about the adults, like me.  Well, the first thing I noticed was the new Muppet Babies Theme performed by Renee Elise Goldsberry.  Itís just a tad different from the original and I noted that Skeeter and Rowlf are not mentioned.  Instead, there is a new artistic character named Summer.  That being said, the theme pretty much expresses the show very well.

The next fifteen tracks are songs that accompany the various adventures the Muppet Babies encounter, teaching about imagination and togetherness while also being simply fun.  My favorite was actually Hopalong Froggy and the Buckin' Bronco in which Kermit tells us all about the cowboyÖerÖfrog and the horse that threw him.  I could actually picture Kermit acting this stuff out in animated form.  Too cute!  The songs are catchy and quick, just right for the targeted childrenís age.  I can imagine that kids this age will have a lot of fun singing along with songs they saw on their favorite television show and re-enacting scenes starring their favorite animated Muppets.

While Iím a tad grown for this sort of thing, I can definitely see how a young child would love the Disney Junior Music: Muppet Babies Soundtrack
