In the British comedy, Downhill, four friends Gordon (Richard Lumsden), Keith (Karl Theobald), Steve (Jeremy Swift) and Julian (Ned Dennehy) reunite to embark on a journey across the British coast, reliving their glory days in the midst of a midlife crisis.  The trip is video taped by Gordon's son (Rupert Simonian) in mockumentary style.

The music of Downhill was created by the father son duo of Ben Park and Brodie Campbell, AKA: To the Waters.  With a career in music that has spanned over twenty years, Ben Park has done it all, acting as resident composer at Opera North, composing music for Fin Walkers choreography and creating musical score for television and film.

The Downhill Soundtrack features music and songs with a folksy sound, with acoustic guitars at the forefront.  The songs on the album speak to the mindset of the main characters as they tangle with the various problems in their lives that prompted this journey.  As you listen to the instrumental tracks, you can imagine the characters on their trek, the scenery and locales passing by as they continue their journey.

The music on the Downhill Soundtrack is soothing and beautiful.  I am a sucker for a well-played guitar and love acoustic guitar music.  For me, listening to this soundtrack was quite a treat.  For fans of acoustic folk music, this is a soundtrack for you.
