The hip-hop/rap group known as E.A.R.T.H., or Everything Around Revolves Through Hip-Hop, hails from San Diego, California.  The members of E.A.R.T.H. - Peso aka Write Words, Ro Tone, NO and Doc Zais - hope to bridge the gap between social and ethnic backgrounds through the sounds of hip-hop.  Their music is influenced by such artists as 2Pac, Snoop Dog, Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, the Wu-Tang Clan, Outkast, Ludacris and more.  Last year, I received an invitation to check out the bandís EP, That Feeling: Love Sex & Intrigue and was pleasantly surprised.  On Valentineís Day 2012, I received yet another invitation to check out the bandís work - it was time for Volume 2 of That Feeling: Love Sex & Intrigue.

Just as in the first volume, That Feeling: Love Sex & Intrigue: Vol. 2 is all about the romance.  The first song, My Lady, is a tribute to that special lady, featuring a beat that keeps the head bobbing and smooth vocals by Ro Tone and Doc Zais.  The following track, You Donít Have to Say Anything, features a great hook, but the lyrics are a bit to explicit for my taste.  Next is Love, Hate, which tells the tale of a man in love with his girl, hating just how much he loves her and vice versa.  I understand the sentiment, but the rapping by NO leaves something to be desired.

The fourth track is Matios Interlude featuring some interesting beats and rap by Matios.  The song seems a bit rushed and the ending leaves you feeling like Matios had more to say and was cut short.  Falling (In Love With You) has that interesting fantasy-world beginning like My Lady and features the stylistic rapping of Ro Tone and NO, who seems to have improved on this track.  This is followed by Serenade and Seduction of the Three Senses in which the singers describe how they woo their ladies through sound, touch and smell.  The EP is wrapped up with the track Is That Love?, a fast-moving track featuring bass guitar, piano and heavy percussion performed while the rappers expound about how they were sucked in by their woman and are now willing to do things they never imagined just for her.

That Feeling: Love Sex & Intrigue: Vol. 2 is a good follow-up EP to Volume 1.  It makes a great addition to a hip-hop/rap loverís Valentineís Day affair.  The music keeps the head bobbing and the lyrics are mostly well thought out with a couple of misses here and there, but not enough to turn you off to the finished product.  E.A.R.T.H. has a good sound and My Lady is definitely worthy of some professional interest.  Perhaps weíll hear it as background music in a movie or on a mainstream station like HOT 97 some day.  But for now, you can check out That Feeling: Love Sex & Intrigue: Vol. 2 at http://earthcrew.bandcamp.com/album/that-feeling-love-sex-intrigue-vol-2.
