On first glance, one could say that The Swear certainly has the look of a great rock band, but do they have what it takes to make it in the harsh reality of the music business.  And then you listen to their music and discover that they have everything it takes and more.  Their debut album, Every Trick’s A Good One, is an EP consisting of six tracks.  The CD is basically a sample of their wares, but what a sample!  Elizabeth Elkins is a dynamic force as the lead singer of the band.  Her vocals are reminiscent of those of rock star Lita Ford, perfectly portraying the angry and wronged hardcore woman with an axe to grind.  She is backed up by talent extraordinaire in guitarist Jeremy Zamora, bass guitarist Kevin Williams, and drummer Kent Aberle, who combined create a rock sound booming with such energy, it is impossible to sit still while listening to it.

Fresh out of Atlanta, this band sports an amazing list of talented musicians that have influenced their music over the years.  Favorites include Guns ‘N’ Rose, The Ramones, Tori Amos, Nine Inch Nails, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Alice In Chains, Jimmy Eat World, Rush, The Beach Boys…and the list goes on and on.  Their influences are apparent in every song on this album.  Each track on this CD tells a story in such detail that you could actually picture the events taking place.  Perhaps that is why The Swear walked away Grand Prize winners of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the rock category.

Listening to tracks like List, you might wonder why you haven’t heard of The Swear before.  Actually, you have!  Music by The Swear has appeared on such popular shows as Smallville (The WB), Roswell (The WB), Reunion (FOX), Life As We Know It (ABC), Wanted (TNT), and Outward Bound (The Discovery Channel).  Small wonder that they would be selected for these shows.  Many of them are looking for a new and exciting sound to add a push rush to their storyline and what better than the non-stop adrenaline rush supplied by The Swear.  Televison covets their music.  Indie stations love them.  Wake up mainstream radio!  The Swear is coming hard and fast, ready to rock your world!
